Jeep is 75 years old, you probably know this already, right? Jeep is probably the most recognizable vehicle on the planet, but do you know how the Willys MB came to be called Jeep? It’s officially an acronym “G.P.” which stands for “general purpose”.

Karl Probst started work on his design on July 17, 1940 and the final proposal was handed to Uncle Sam on the 22nd! Who said Jeeps weren’t fast?
