Cars.Com have reported there has been a recall issued for all 2017 Jeep Renegade's.
What Is The Problem?
It would seem that an issue has been flagged up, where by a malfunctioning indicator lamp may illuminate on the instrument panel, when in fact there is no malfunction. This is due to a software issue that has been identified within the vehicle.
If the light illuminates at incorrect times & isn't working properly it can increase the risk of the driver not being aware of when a true malfunction happens, which in turn can increase the risk of a crash.
What Can You Do?
Jeep have advised taking your Renegade to the nearest main dealer & they will update the instrument panel control software for free.
Jeep Manufacturer Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will be notifying those owners affected as of September 16th 2017.
But owners can call FCA at 800-853-1403, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check your vehicle identification number and learn more.
Or please visit www.gotocars.com Service & Repair to find your local dealer.
